Revlon Lip Butter 'Sweet Tart'

Revlon's much anticipated Colorburst Lip Butters have finally arrived in the UK!
I popped into Boots on my way home from work a few days ago to check them out but unfortunately they only had a couple of shades left. I've been looking at a lot of swatches online and I instantly knew that I would have to get my hands on Sweet Tart - luckily it was still in stock and quickly went into my shopping basket. I managed to behave myself and only buy one of these little beauties but after using it for two days I am certain that a few more shades will follow very soon!
Basically, Revlon Lip Butters are a lipstick/lipbalm hybrid - they are moisturising and lightweight like a balm but have the colour payoff and staying power of a (sheer) lipstick.  And they are definitely not like your average 'tinted lipbalm'! I was really surprised at how pigmented they actually are, the colour payoff beats that of a lot of my sheer lipsticks, like Dior Addict or 17 Mirror Shine lipsticks. I also love how moisturising they are and how soft and smooth they make my lips feel. Yet, you hardly notice that you are wearing anything as they are super lightweight and non-sticky. Staying power on these is brilliant too; I was wearing Sweet Tart all day yesterday and today and only had to touch up approximately every three hours!
I'm a sucker for pink lipsticks so it's probably not surprising that the shade I picked up is Sweet Tart, a bright medium pink which looks slightly cool toned on my lips. It's super shiny and glossy and doesn't contain any glitter particles. I absolutely love this shade, it's quite bright and interesting yet very easy to wear and perfect for summer - I can definitely see myself reaching for Sweet Tart a lot!
All in all, I can definitely recommend Revlon's Lip Butters as they are the perfect lip product hybrid, and I simply can't fault them. You get the benefits of both lipstick and balm, there's wide range of shades to choose from, the packaging is very pretty and sturdy and £7.99 seems like a fair price for me! Thumbs up! xx

NOTD: Minty Green Tips

Hi lovelies! Sorry it's been so quiet here over the past few days - I've worked pretty much nonstop since I came back from my holidays, but I should have a bit more time again now to show and review all the lovely things (both beauty products and clothes) I bought recently, I've also got a few recipes I need to share with you andjust generally catch up with everything! :)
So for now, I'm going to show you a really easy manicure I did a wee while ago when I was a bit short of time before a night out - I wanted to use my new Essence Colour&Go polish called 'Viva La Green' and I reckoned that only painting my tips would take less time to dry.. Anyway, I did like this manicure a lot, it's very simple but pretty and so quick to do! Viva La Green is a lovely mint green polish, it applies easily and dries super quick. I'm really impressed with Essence's nail polishes, they've improved a lot over the last few years and they're such bargains - the small Colour&Go polishes retail at 1.25€ (approx. £1) and come in a huge variety of shades! Do you own any Essence polishes?
PS: Excuse the tipwear, the pictures were taken three days after painting my nails! xx

Sleek Face Contour Kit 'Light'

Hello girls! I know that most girls with pale skin struggle to find a bronzer or contour powder which is not too dark, orange or muddy-looking. To be honest, I gave up the search after a few attempts of finding the perfect shade which was just a waste of money and time. However, I recently came across quite a few very positive reviews of Sleek's Face Contour Kit and the 'Light' one looked promising to me - at £6.50 it wouldn't break the bank either so I popped into my local Superdrug to and gave the whole bronzer/contour thing one last chance...
And I'm so glad I did! The contour powder is light enough for my pale skin, matte, very soft and blends like a dream. I've been using it every day since I bought it as it's very natural looking and enhances my cheekbones and makes them look well defined. The highlighter is lovely too - it's just as soft and blendable as the contour powder and the shimmer is subtle and very fine. There's nothing worse than big, gritty glitter that turns your cheeks into discoballs! Also, I'm a sucker for packaging and Sleek always hits the spot - I love the simple and ultra sleek packaging (which feels nice and sturdy) and a mirror in the lid is always a plus.
All in all, I'm really happy with this product. I've finally found a contour powder that works for my skin tone, the highlighter is lovely and it's so easy to use - it's also a real bargain considering the brilliant quality! Have you tried the Sleek Face Contour Kit before? Or what contour do you use? xx

NOTD: Strawberry Ice Cream

Strawberry Ice Cream! A lovely name for a lovely baby pink polish. As with all my Barry M nail polishes, application was brilliant: very smooth, opaque in two coats and fast drying. You can buy Barry M polishes at Boots or Superdrug for £2.99 - a total steal if you ask me! I love wearing this colour on its own but I was in the mood for some sparkle and glitter.. My favourite polish for this job is definitely Essence's Nail Art Twins Glitter Topper! It's simply stunning - this clear base is packed with holographic fine round glitter and bigger square glitter which adds something special to any boring colour in an instant.
Strawberry ice cream and holo glitter? Thumbs up from me! What's your verdict? Mona xx

MAC Lustre Lipstick 'Lustering'

Hello there! Those of you who follow me on Twitter might know that I'm in Germany visiting my family and friends at the moment. It's amazing to see everybody again and I'm having a brilliant time - the sun is shinig non stop too! I've already been shopping a couple of times and picked up some lovely products from Catrice, Essence and p2 which I will show you in the next few days. But for now I've got a beautiful pink lippie to show you which I bought at the MAC counter at the airport - the lipsticks were £11.50 so how could I say no?
'Lustering' is a lipstick I've had my eyes on for quite some while now and I'm so glad I finally own it - it's absolutely beautiful and I've worn it every day since I bought it on Saturday! Lustering is a slightly cool-toned, hot pink which is easy to wear because of the lustre finish: it's glossy, quite sheer (but buildable) and feels just like a lipbalm - moisturising, non sticky and basically weightless! However, it won't last as long as matte or more creamy lipsticks but I can go a good two hours without reapplying which is absolutely fine for me. All in all, this lippie is fantastic and has already became one of my new favourites; I love the shade and the formula is a dream! xx

My Favourite Things In February

Tresemmé Split Remedy Intense Recovery Mask: All the bleaching, blow-drying, straightening and curling is taking its toll on my poor hair. My hair is dry and damaged and I suffer from split ends a lot - I've tried so many different masks and serums in the past but the Tresemmé Split Remedy Mask really does what it says on the tub. It makes my hair shiny and smooth and my ends look a lot healthier already. It also smells lovely and a little goes a long way, so this huge tub will definitely last me ages!
Sleek Face Contour Kit 'Light': I finally found a contour powder which isn't too dark or orange for my pale skin! The contour shade is matte and very natural looking, easy to apply and blend. The highlighter is brilliant too and I've been using the kit every day since I bought it. And it's a steal at £6.50!
Barry M Peach Melba Nail Polish: Peach Melba is such a beautiful pastel peach shade which instantly puts me in a good mood - I've been wearing it quite a lot last month which is why it definitely deserves a place in my February Favourites!
The Body Shop Almond Hand&Nail Cream: I own quite a lot of handcreams but this has quickly become my favourite and is now basically the single one I reach for. It smells amazing, sinks in within seconds and most important, makes my hands super soft and smooth. I simply can't fault it! I've written a full review about it here.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural 'Medium': This product has been on my wishlist for ages but the price always put me off, but luckily Kev got me it as part of my Valentine's presents! After using it for over two weeks I can totally understand what the hype is about! It's sets my foundation perfectly and stays matte all day, feels silky smooth and looks very natural. Thumbs up!
The Body Shop Grapefruit Lip Butter: The lip butters from TBS are my favourite lip balms, I always carry one around with me, there's another one on my bedside table and a few scattered around my flat hah! Grapefruit is my newest one: I love the citrusy scent and, obviously, how brilliant it work - it gives me the softest lips!
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil 'Slate': This works great as a base for dark eyeshadows or even on it's own when I don't have a lot of time to get ready. I simply smudge it around my eyes for quick and subtle smokey eyes. It's blends very easily and stays put all day - and I love the shade! I've already got a few more colours on my wishlist...
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick 'Crosswires': My first ever MAC lippie and I'm so in love with it. Crosswires is a beautiful and wearable shade, it's moisturising and long-lasting - simply a brilliant lipstick! You can find the full review and swatches here.
17 Mirror Shine Lipstick 'Peace': If you've been following my blog for a wee while you might have noticed my love for 17's Mirror Shine lipsticks. They are one of the best sheer lipsticks I have tried and I reach for them a lot as they are so easy to wear. Last month I carried 'Peace' around in my hand bag almost every day.. That says it all, doesn't it? Click here for swatches and a full review.
Catrice Bright Blush 'Tickled Pink': This little beauty got lost somewhere between all my other blushes and I only rediscovered it a few weeks ago. Since then, I've reached for it lots of times, especially when wearing Crosswires on my lips - they're pretty similar which makes them look great together! It's very pigmented but easy to blend and lasts all day.

It's fully opaque in two coats, applies like a dream, dries quickly and stays flawless for a good couple of days. What's not to love?
